Sampled: Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Oil

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

One more item checked off from my To-Blog List :)

Ingredients
Mineral Oil, Isopropyl, Isostearate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Polysorbate 80, PEG-8 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Sorbitan Trioleate, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Water, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, PPG-10 Cetyl Ether, Benzyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Propylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Oleifera leaf extract, lodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Rosmarinus Officinlis (Rosemary) leaf extract

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Nett Wt: 15ml - sample size
Scent: Strong, may be overpowering for some.
Texture: Clear oil, quite thick.
Price: I think about NT$239

I got this as a freebie when I purchase a Taiwanese beauty mag for RM3 so I'm unable to tell you much about this.

The first time I used this I got shocked by the very strong scent. Very deep scent, so some may not like this. After a few more uses, I kinda like this. Kinda therapeutic smell haha.

Its texture is thicker than Biore's. Able to remove my BB Cream completely as well as some light eye makeup. Not so much on waterproof mascara though.

Emulsify into milky texture once in contact with water, and when rinsed thoroughly, it does not leave an oily filmsy feel. No need for a second wash, but I have a habit of double cleansing so I follow up with my regular foam cleanser and voila, really clean skin. Doesn't feel tight, and didn't break me out. :)

I don't think this is available in Malaysia, saw this in one of the mags - retailing for NT239 for full sized 250ml?

Will buy the full sized product if I can find one :)

Avon Simply Delicate Feminine Wash - Soothing

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Let's move away from the usual beauty products for a while, eh?
Feminine hygiene is a important as keeping our faces clean, if not more.

I've started to try quite a number of Avon products of late, happy to say most of them works quite well for me. I switched to Simply Delicate from my usual Lactacyd just to see if this is just as good.

They come in a few variants, today I'll be reviewing the Soothing one, with Oak Bark.

Avon Says:

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Scent: Mildly soothing
Texture: Semi-transparent white cream.
Nett Wt: 400ml (also comes in 100ml, and 200ml)
Price: NP RM14.85, I got this at sale price RM9.90
Others: Made in Phillipines

Hmm I'm aware that this contains SLS and alcohol, not exactly my favourite ingredients. However I find that this cleanses well, non-iritating and non-drying. I feel fresh almost all day.

This 400ml bottle lasted me about 3-4 months of twice a day use.
Especially handy during the time of the month when I really want to feel refreshingly clean.

I would probably re-purchase this, in fact I have another 2 variants to try out before deciding if I'll go back to Lactacyd :)

bynature Plant Extracts Herbal Shampoo - Soapberry

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

It is a lazy lazy Sunday, raining at the moment. So what is better than stay home and blog? :D

I've been finishing a couple of products lately so now is the best time to post some reviews..
Don't remember reviewing any shampoos so far, I have about 4 soon to be empties, yay! When choosing for shampoos, my main concerns are:
- for thinning hair / hair loss
- dandruff (it happens when I'm extremely stressed)
- good ingredients, as much as possible. If organics all the better, moving towards that direction.

I suffered from mild hair loss few years ago when I constantly clocked 4-5 hours of sleep, together with irregular meal times, and super long working hours. I grew up with really black, thick hair so it was heartbreaking to experience hair loss :(

I've since changed my lifestyle and happy to share that hair loss is no longer a huge concern for me. Its on its way back to the happy old days hehe.

Okay, so here is the first that I'm going to review - Soapberry Shampoo from bynature.

bynature Says:

Relieves itching and removes dandruff

Saponin in Soapberry extract helps to relieve the itching and remove dandruff. Deeply cleanse and soften the scalp, draw out bacteria and helps prevent hair from grayness. Leave hair more shine and healthier.

Direction: Gently masage into wet hair and scalp, rinse thoroughly. Follow by Bynature Soapberry + Olive Oil Conditioner

DI Water, Ammonium lauryl sulfate, (Plant derived),Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate (Plant derived), Cocamidropropyl Betaine (Plant derived), Aloe vera Extract ,(Plant derived), Polyquaternium10 (Plant cellulose), D Panthenol (Natural derived), Sodium Chloride (Natural derived), Fragrance, Methylchloroisothiazolinone

Some Benefits of Soapberry:
Soapberry (Sapindusmukorossi Gaertn) in Thailand called "Prakamdeekwai". It also has a Chinese name called “Wu Chen Zi” (means “no dust”). Soapberry, especially Chinese Soapberry, have become popular as a natural mixture of cosmetic industry due to its environmental friendly benefit. It is a popular ingredient of shampoos and cleansers. Soapberry is safe even for washing silk, woolens and other delicate fabrics.

The Soapberry is one of the leading trees that provide beautification in tropical Asia such as Thailand . Along time ago, we are also used traditionally to wash hair and to treat mild to moderate skin. It is also safe for people with sensitive skin, even people who suffer allergic reactions to store bought “sensitive skin” cleansers. The biggest advantage of Soapberry is uses with safety; it is not harm when Soapberry remains to human body.

In Thailand , we are extensively used it for the treatment of hair and scalp issues such as hair loss and anti-dandruff. Today, we have developed the soapberry as a natural ingredient as an essential hair care products for shine and softness of hair. It is safe for people with sensitive skin, even people who suffer allergic reactions to store bought “sensitive skin” cleansers.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Scent: Light refreshing scent. A little citrusy.
Texture: Transparent gel - yellow.
Nett Wt: 250ml
Others: Made in Thailand
Price: I don't exactly remember, but less than 200 Baht. Got this at the Bkk Airport - Boots :)

Why I like it:
99% Plant derived
No SLS, SLES, DEA
Paraben Free
Recyclable PET package

This is one of my favourite shampoo so far :D It lathers up quite easily and doesn't sting my eyes. Most importantly it really helps to prevent dandruffs and a bonus to it - non-drying.

Cleanses really well without stripping off oil. I'd re-purchase this again, anytime!

Collective Hauls - Part 1

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in

Before I went out of my mind and keep on shopping; here is a reminder to myself of what damage I've already done in recent months (weeks)..

Proper reviews will follow soon (when work is not so demanding ok.. sigh when are those days coming..!?)

Maybelline Clear Smooth Extra Shine Free Powder Foundation
I saw this ad many time on TV and was very tempted to try the one for full coverage. I got this on sale at about RM14 -ish? I barely tried enough for a proper review.

My first try by patting in on - I don't like it. Made my skin cakey and looked dry! Second attempt with a brush - ahh looks better. Not a good time to experiment further as I am currently swamped with work, so I go with the tried and tested.

Finally, the Revlon PhotoReady Makeup is mine *glee*
I've read mixed reviews about this foundie - the negative about sparkles..

So far I've tried this a few times and I love love it! No sparkles, no discoball, really just smooth looking skin and lasted all day. Just a minor thing.. it is "transferable" so don't hug anyone in white!

Avon hauls again..
I reaaaallly need to stop shopping at Avon.. I'm almost done collecting all the Urban Flowers perfumes.. I don't quite like Rome, so leaving that one out. At RM16 per bottle during sale, I fell in love with Shanghai and that kick started my interest to collect more..

Can never get enough of body lotions, so here's another one :D And I add another item to the Rejuvenate skincare line I bought last.. 2 months? One must mask.... hehe.

One random Friday night, after a particularly stressful work day (read: madness, absenteesim, overflowing work, ppl around me grumbling, ppl chasing for updates, ok I shall stop here); so I read the papers late and voila!
Revlon's lippies are on BOGO, so are Majolica Majorca's eyeshadows!

I came back with 4 lipsticks and 2 eyeshadows.. and a Acmedica Toner.. :P
Those zits / whiteheads along my jaw - something needs to be done here, right?

Anyone remember if they pleaded with their moms to have her train case?
I did :D Back in those days Momma's was a simple cream colored one, and I love playing with her stuffs hehe. I'd spent time rummaging thru her goodies while she naps... (I was a good girl who never disturb her Momma's naps lol)

She finally gave it to me when I entered college, and till today I still keep it with me.. But every woman need to have one of her own, right?
Lol excuses, but I found one I really like and I'm a happy owner...

Next few pictures are my current faves (you will read alot of this phrases from me :P )

My online purchase from NonPareilBoutique

Came nicely wrapped and all in perfect condition. Everything was on 20% off.

Why all of a sudden eyeshadows? Lol don't know either.. can't resist those colors? As for blushers and bronzers.. well those are my weaknesses.

I was impatient to wait; could you see I swatched a color? Happy with the quality. Yet to really try on all colors..

My love... bronzers. I'm working towards clear porcelain skin.. but I love some warmth too. Milani Tantastic Bronzer - took me a while to figure out how to open it haha. Came with a brush and mirror. Soft brush :)

Nice glow from Wet n Wild. I remember this brand in Msia when I was in high school.. bought the lip liner.. and then kapoof! No more news on Wet n Wild here. Hmm...

More blushers:

From Guardian.. these oils from Garden of Eden were on sale. And I had 2x RM5 off coupons. Primrose E and Grape E - anti aging!

The Ginvera Green Tea cleanser was selling for RM1 as part of PWP.

Random buys that I grouped together:

- Maybelline Make Up Remover. Can you believe I've not tried this before? :P
- Revlon Beyond Natural 2-Way Foundation. Fine texture. Trying this for the first time..
- The Majorlica Eyeshadows mentioned earlier..
- Olay Total Effects in Gentle + SPF. Promo set comes with a serum and cleanser.. I'll tell you the story behind this buy later on ;)

Hooyah! So thats Part 1.
Lemme find another time for Part 2.
