Foxy Frangipani Says:
Scent: Soy, waxy
Nett Wt: 125ml
Price
: RM100++
Texture:Lotion
Color: Yellow

Took me like dino years to review this hehe, because I didn't like this and chucked this into a box; and it is time for me to spring clean again (I'm in the midst of preparing to move house, so you'll hear endless spring cleanings).
It is a highly raved cult product; but I didn't like this one bit!
Made my skin shine like a roti canai pan and felt oily all day long.

And worse, I got tiny bumps after using this for a couple of days. Bad bad bad, there were very few moisturizer that could do this to me! It didn't get absorbed immediately.. there were some white layers that need more massaging before they disappeared.
It certainly didn't help that it smelt like soy, and a little waxy too :S
I wasn't in the time period where I scrutinize ingredients; but now that I do, I notice mineral oil and petrolatum eeeeks!

No go, not repurchasing. In fact I still have about half a bottle with me - trashed! (or turn it into foot lotion??)

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua Purificata) Purified, Mineral Oil (paraffinum liquidum), Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Oil, Propylene Glycol, Tea Stearate, Gylceryl Stearate, Lanolin Alcohol, Petrolatum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Scent: Gentle, non irritating
Nett Wt: 15ml
Price
: Part of GWP
Texture: Gel-creme
Color: Light beige

..... (silence). I don't know what to say about this product. I don't hate it, I don't like it either; like drinking water. Here is a better description - I will not buy it.

Like the eye cream, it does nothing for me.
I do like its jelly like texture, so easy to spread; and its not pore clogging. Non oily. But just not hydrating enough. No firming properties. Hmm I just don't see the point..

Toss!

Foxy Says:

Price: RM250
Scent: Next to none
Texture: Gel-creme, white

I didn't use this twice a day as suggested, could have created havoc on my combination skin if I did.. I used this mostly in the morning; because upon applying this on, it feels like having a smooth layer of skin (its the dimethicone). Kinda acts like a base for me.

So yes to velvety feel, but perfected look? Depends on your skills in applying foundation..

But thats just it. Other than the smooth feel, it didn't do much to my skin.
My pores are just as visible (or huge). No additional radiance what-so-ever.
What a bummer, really.

Didn't cause me breakouts, but could be drying.
In the late evenings I could actually see fine lines on my cheeks when I smile. Eeeksss...

I won't be re-purchasing for sure.
Not worth the RM250 spent!

Clinique Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Another Clinique eyes buddy bidded me farewell recently. No heavy hearted I-will-miss-you-alot feelings though. Let's see why:

Clinique says:
Potent anti-aging eye cream focuses skin's energies on repair. Targets the appearance of eye-area lines and wrinkles. Replenishes antioxidants. Strengthens vulnerable skin for a brighter, vibrant, refreshed look. Ophthalmologist Tested. Patent pending.* For all skin types.

Foxy Says:
Ok, I don't have wrinkles to begin with. But I do have some faint lines thanks to staring at the laptop 14 hours a day.

Texture: Yellowish tinted cream, rich
Scent: None :)
Nett Wt: 15 ml
Packaging: in a jar (not a fave, but I use a spatula for all skincare in jars, so am not bothered)
Price: Part of GWP..

Despite the rich antioxidant formula, it did nothing to my fine lines. Not helping in reducing dark circles or puffiness too.

On the brighter side, it did not sting my eyes, no irritation, and most importantly did not give me milia seeds. Very basic in terms of hydration; not good enough to last me over 9 hours in the office.

Hmm I'm not impressed with it. Don't think I'll purchase this.

Let's see how these perform eh:
~ Lancome Renergie Morpholift Yeux R.A.R.E Lifting & Firming Eye Serum
~ Lancome Renergie Morpholift Yeux R.A.R.E Repositioning Eye Cream
~ Pure Beauty Pomegranate Antioxidant Eye Cream

Clinique Gives...

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in

Fancy some Clinique freebies?
I recently received a Birthday Card from Clinique with some vouchers to redeem a lovely manicure set and also a RM100 worth of makeup workshop.
Well, I got the manicure set *beams* Lovely in white..

Clinique also gives out samples of their new Youth Surge Moisturizer, 7ml. Unfortunately when I went to redeem mine, they ran out of stock. Bummer, it always happens, aint it? But surprisingly the SA asked if its okay if she open a new tester unit and de-can into a jar for me. What say? Of course, please :)

She gave me a generous amount of the Youth Surge Day Moisturizer with SPF15. Picture below shows the remaining amount after about 2 weeks of usage. So far, I don't know if I really like it, or don't. Lemme finish the sample and I'll write a proper review eh?

And finally, they also had a giveaway published in The Star Weekender section; to redeem their famous 3 Step skincare. Of course the day after it was published, they ran out of stock (again). So the SA gave me the ones in sachets. Didn't really mind, these come in handy when I travel.. he he.

R.I.P. Clinique All About Eyes..

Tonight I bid you goodbye CAAE. It has been a marvellous few months (though it felt like years) with you. I don't know if I'm happy or sad to see you go.. - Mental I know. I have to admit, you didn't impress me when we first met. I was more interested in the pink glossy pouch that you came together with! All I saw in you was, err.. you were brown and gooey and.. the thought of slathering you onto my lids was just.. a lil icky. And weighing at 15ml, it dawned to me then that you're never gonna leave me anytime soon. Sigh, how wrong was I! Its true what ppl say, do not judge a book by its cover! After our initial lack of chemistry introduction, one fine day I’ve decided to squeeze you a lil onto my finger.. and dabbed dabbed.. and raised brow.... dabbed dabbed... a grin started to appear on my face! I liked you then and there! What I love about you: Texture: crème-gel that didn’t suffocate my skin. Feels great when massaged gently for lines prevention. Color: honestly, as long as it wasn’t black or blue or red! Size: you came in a 15ml trial tube, not in a jar. So its uber easy to carry you around. Apart from that, you kept my eye areas really soft and hydrated! Even under air conditioning at work. No sign of stickiness, didn’t ruin my makeup. And the bonus – didn’t give me milia seeds. Sigh, so what there not to love about you...? Nothing.. Why am I not repurchasing you? Because, I strayed a little and now I have to deal with some Garniers and an Estee Lauder. *looking guilty*

Confession of a Potion Addict

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in , , ,

It took me months before I give in and admit this: - I'M A SUCKER FOR LOTIONS AND POTIONS..

As usual, weekends are damaging to my purse. I came back with $380 worth of Estee Lauder and Clinique products *grins* I'm euphoric.. The highs of getting more new creams, serums - even after-shopping guilt don't come close.

I should be alarmed you know (bloody hell yeh). Should have seen my cosmetics collections. To start of with, I already spent a huge chunk on Dermalogica last December. But heck, I've gotta give Dermalogica some credits - they LAST!

8 months down the road, I still have about half a bottle of the cleanser left (and for the record, I gave 100ml to mom to let her try). And yes, I wash my face at least twice a day :P My fave - "Special Cleansing Gel" and "Essential Cleansing Solution".

Just last month the salesgirl from the salon was bugging hell outta me asking me to replenish. Crazy... why replenish when I still have loads to last me probably months down the road? She just don't understand human language and was being very pushy, at the same time trying to educate me on how to wash my face... to the point I almost wanna insult her skin condition.

The toner is pretty alright (I never really understand why we need them, just water to me, hehe). "Skin Smoothing Cream" is not oily (it just oil away my $$$). It does leave my skin well moisturized, well till the time I leave work and get into my car... the heat - I hate the hot blazing sun!

Not going back for the mask though. "Skin Hydrating Mask" is dehydrating. The facialists want me to slather on a thick layer for max 3 minutes in order to get the max effect, else it dries you up. Honestly, I'm freakin not gonna use a timer to time exactly 3 mins or get moisture sucked outta my skin. Yeah I fibbed a few times saying I actually use it every two days.. in fact, I switched to Skin Food's "Creamy Cheese Mask" and a whole list of other face packs (you'll faint when I list them down, I'm sure of it)

And during my recent facial session, the facialist actually said - "Hmm your skin is well hydrated, enough moisture". I was thinking " yeah go on thinking its the Skin Hydrating Mask that did this wonder.."

So I'm almost running out of my day moisturiser, hands were itching to get something new. Good lord, couple of weeks ago my knees went weak for Benefit Cosmetics (yes yes yes I bought some), now I've got my hands on some Estee Lauders.

The red packaging for their Nutritious range is so damn enticing. Got myself these:
- Nutritious Vita Mineral Moisture Mik
- Nutritious Restorative Night Creme

And these minis are the gifts:
- Restorative Night Creme
- UV Protector SPF50/PA++
- Vita Mineral Moisture Gel Creme
- Vita Mineral Radiance Essense
- Vita Mineral Energy Lotion

Extra gift: Purifying 2-in-1 Foam Cleanser.

Smells so yummy I wanna use them right away. But old faithfuls could still last about 1-2 weeks? Darn... I really really wanna use new stash!! :S

Oh, this spoilt girl also bought:
- Clinique Pore Minimizer Refining Serum
- Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector
- Clinique Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief

Nooo... I'm not that spoilt.. its the minikit that comes in a pouch ok. I just wanna see if those products really work. :P Oh boy, I need to go sort out my stash now... And boss? I need a raise.. *more grins*
