Sabai-arom Jasmine & Aloe Vera Face Mask

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Sabai-arom Says:
(for all skin types)

Don`t you love how fresh you feel after a catnap? Don`t you want your complexion to mirror such heavenly freshness, too? We do – that`s why we concocted this purely natural recipe for you.

Apart from moisturizing Aloe Vera, long used by Thais to soothe tired and sore skin, we added the blissful scent of Jasmine. Thais find the smell of this tiny white flower both relxing and reviving.

In order to take advantage of its sensory benefits, our ancestors sprinkled Jasmine flowers in their bath and drinking water, even today many people hang fresh garlands on the rear – view mirrors in their cars for the same purpose.

Try our clay mask and witness your face come alive with a fresh, healthy glow – didn`t think it was possible to literally glow, did you? And in less time than your catnap, too.

How to stay pretty:
Apply an even layer onto your clean damp face, avoiding the eye contour. Leave this effective recipe on for 3 to 5 minutes for the nutrients to fully penetrate your skin. Wipe and rinse off.

Foxy Says:
Net: 100g
Price: Roughly about 419 Baht
Texture: Cream
Scent: Very sweet comforting, like cream with nice hint of jasmine.
Made in: Thailand

What I like most about this is its scent!! Gorgeous jasmine but not overpowering. (I am tempted to try all things Jasmine).

Plus points: doesn't cause breakouts for my skin. Hydrating properties are good. I usually use this in the shower. After cleansing my face, slather on a thick layer and then proceed with shower / scrub routine. About 3-5 mins after that, I rinse off with cold water.

Easy to remove, does not leave oily residue (dries to clay).

There is nothing I dislike about this, however this is not a miracle product ;)
It does a great job in hydrating plus smells awesome, that's about all.

KAO ASIENCE Inner Rich Treatment

I'll be using alot of pics from the web, as just as the wedding madness has ended, it is now house-reno madness (!!)

Also enriched with Royal Jelly extract that keeps hair smooth and supple to the ends.

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Texture: Thick cream
Scent: Pleasant, hint of ginseng
Nett Wt: 180g
Color: White
Price: n/a
Made in: Japan

I'll be first to admit that I pay the least attention to hair care all the while. Even when I suffered hair loss due to work stress some years back, my diligence is still not comparable to skincare.

So on normal circumstances, I wouldn't be spending on hair treatments.
Just that I got this for free hehehe. It is part of the Goodie Bag items, complimentary from The Hotel where my wedding was held.

It was only on my wedding day that I realized just how much hairspray was needed to hold the little up do. Lets just put it this way - never in my entire life have I had to use so much hairspray. It held my mane in place for a good 16 hours! And that means, washing it off was a real real pain!

And I thought that was it... then I flew to Taipei to have my wedding shots taken. Another round of hairspray attack. This time it was worse, as I had 6 different styles. When I washed my hair that night, all I could think off was OMG OMG OMG... another round of hair loss?! I promise I'll be good!

(The Husband commented that my hair looked dry - I've always have oily scalp! So that was bad news)

Then I became so grateful this was gifted to me hehehehe. Because after just one use, I couldn't stop touching my hair :) I'm still not diligent enough to use it daily (I don't think I'll ever come to that level, also I didn't want super oily hair); but twice a week seems  pretty awesome for me.

After shampoo I use about the size of 2 peas and massage into my hair, avoiding the scalp. I leave it anywhere from 3-10 mins, depending on how much time I have in the shower. Even 3 mins did wonders for me.

Rinse with cold water, and air-dry. Hair looks much healthier, glossy even.
Best of all, I don't have to worry about dry hair (I wash my hair daily, sometimes with deep cleansing shampoo).

Definitely opportunity for re-purchase :)

Elizabeth Arden Sheer White Restoring Night Cream

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Donkey years ago (2009 heee) I got this during the Loreal Warehouse. I was excited trying out this night cream for about 1-2 weeks until... until I started to really dislike it. Then I passed it to my mom and forgot about this product.

Why now? Because the box is still lying around my desk... and I seriously needed to spring clean (again) haha.

Anyway, this cream was lightly fragranced, like flowery powder. Which I quite like. Texture wise, light cream. It is supposed to be lightweight. So first week was ok.. probably my skin was adjusting to new product.

But ughh no. Turns out too heavy for my skin. Totally clogged my skin and gave me bumps. And adding to the discomfort was the o-i-l-y film it left on my face :(

So no firming property, no brightening effect and certainly no radiant skin for me.

But my mom loved it. Her skin really appeared fresh and dewy, and only very little were used each time.

Price: RM62
Texture: Light Cream
Nett Wt: 50ml

Another sunscreen from Kiss Me which I really like. There is really nothing that I dislike about this sunscreen. It is as good as Kose's; and I love that it is so affordable, at RM29.90! Add a little patience for sale, and I could probably get another 10-15% off!

Came in plastic tube with screw top, does not leak. Small enough to pop it into handbag for those who prefer to re-apply midday.

No white cast! :D Like like like!

The runny texture allowed me to spread the product comfortably to cover my entire face and neck. Did not make my skin oily.

It did last me about 3 months or so. Did not cause me breakouts or gave me irritation. Would repurchase this without hesitation.

Kiehl's Says:
Inspired by our original, beloved Ultra Facial Moisturizer, this 24-hour, light-textured daily hydrator leaves skin comfortable and visibly well-balanced, particularly in harsh weather conditions.

Our formula is made with Antarcticine–a Glycoprotein extracted from microorganisms sourced from sea glaciers and notable for an ability to protect skin from cold temperatures–as well as Imperata Cylindrica, a plant indigenous to the Australian desert which possesses superb water retention properties in dry conditions.

Our unique combination of ingredients helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air. With continuous water replenishment throughout the day, skin is smooth, healthy-looking, and "moisture-even."

Can I just sum it up as - I really really like this one!?
Because it made my skin feels like it had a good drink of water. Nicely plumped up. I mostly used it as a day cream.

Rubbed between my palms to warm it up a little. And then spread onto my face and neck. Even with the harsh air cond and scorching hot sun, my skin did not feel tight. I did find it a bit oily if I did not top up with loose powder in the morning.

What I didn't really like:
- It comes in a jar! I'm not in favour of dipping my fingers in or washing my spatula before and after each scoop! Boo..

- Price tag? Hmmm well RM100 isn't thaaaat bad, but any cheaper won't hurt haha.

Daiso Compression Socks

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

2 weeks ago, while I was in KL for my books haul; I stopped by Daiso at One Utama to check out whats newer than those in Penang.

Hmm compression socks for RM5?! I had to try this!
I mostly wear this at night for about 4 hours, removing them just before bedtime. The size M-L fits just nice, snug but not too tight it becomes painful.

I don't know about the increase in blood circulation or other health benefits. But what I do realize when I check myself out at the mirror ( yes I do that often... you know you do it too :P ), my calves look lean and not bloatish (if you know what I mean).

So yay! This is a winner for me :D

What are Compression Socks?
WiseGeek Says:

Compression socks are specialized hosiery items designed to provide extra support and increase blood circulation. The main purpose of compression socks is to provide graduated pressure on the lower leg and foot.

The key to understanding compression socks lies in their graduated pressure application. Throughout an average day, the body pumps blood to all of the extremities as equally as it can. Gravity, however, often causes blood to pool in the lower legs and feet, causing circulatory problems such as edema, phlebitis and thrombosis.

At the very least, all of this blood pooling can cause fatigue and leg cramps. Elevating the legs and feet may alleviate the pain temporarily, but it often returns after a few hours of constant standing or walking.

This is where the use of compression socks can be extremely beneficial. Compression socks use stronger elastics such as rubber or spandex to create significant pressure on the legs, ankles and feet. By compressing the surface veins, arteries and muscles, the circulating blood is forced through narrower channels.

The arterial pressure is increased, causing more blood to return to the heart and less blood to pool in the feet. Compression socks are tightest at the ankles, gradually become less constrictive towards the knees. The soles of compression socks may be heavily padded for better shock absorption.
