Origins Sensory Therapy Peace of Mind

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in

Origins Says:
On-the-spot relief

When the world closes in on you and your head feels a size too small, apply just two dabs of Origins mind-clearing formula on the back of your neck, temples and earlobes. You'll feel a tingling sensation as pressure, tension and tightness begin to melt away.

Best for all skin types

How to use:
Place three small dabs on fingertips. Take a deep breath to experience Peace of Mind®'s stress relieving aromas.

Massage into the back of neck, earlobes, and temples (closer to the hairline than to eyes.)

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 15ml
Texture: Cream
Scent: Peppermint
Colour: White

One of Origins' bestseller item. It does smell good and refreshing.
Once applied onto skin, it gives a cooling sensation.

Doesn't last long though. Easy to carry around, but I rarely do as I like to carry my bag light.

It is nice to have one, but not a necessity. Nothing too special about this.
I think this is comparable to "minyak angin"; only much more expensive.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Facial Exfoliator

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

The Body Shop Says:
Creamy facial scrub that gently exfoliates and removes excess oils, helping to control blemishes to leave the skin smooth.

Made with ground tea tree leaves, beeswax, and pro-vitamin B5 deep cleanse and condition for clearer, softer skin.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 100ml
Texture: Cream with granules
Scent: Strong tea tree
Colour: Green
Price: RM42 (for 2pcs)
Made in: UK

I bought this during one of The Body Shop sale. Last minute score :)
And I'm so glad I got these!

The granules are coarse enough for a good scrub, yet not abrasive to the skin. I love the smell of tea tree oil (I'm a fan). After each scrub, my skin feels smooth and clean; but can be a little drying if not followed by toner / moisturizer.

I use this every other day, instead of twice a week as advised ;)
Some nights, I leave this on a few mins longer as a mask. It does a great job in keeping zits at bay.

Definitely will repurchase, only if they still produce this...

Lakme K.THERAPY Active Prevention Shampoo

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in

Lakme Says:
Revitalising shampoo which prevents hair loss.
Provides energy and vigour to devitalised hair.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 250ml
Texture: Cream
Scent: Fresh
Colour: White

Pictured here is the old packaging. Bought this from Shins when I was suffering quite bad hair loss. This resided in my gym bag so I only used it about 3 times a week.

Lathers very well, scent was pleasant.
Does a decent job in cleansing my scalp, but not drying.

Didn't notice any obvious improvement in terms of preventing hair loss; but since it is no longer a problem for me I guess it helped a little.

No plans of repurchasing this as I already found my HG Shampoo :)

L'Oreal De-maq Expert Cashmere Milk Expert Make-Up Remover

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Loreal Says:
L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise; De-maq Expert Cashmere Milk Complete Make-up Remover is ideal for women who find water too harsh on their skin. It achieves maximum cleansing for the face and eyes while restoring skin's moisture levels.

The soft formula is two times more concentrated in active cleansing and nourishing ingredients than a classic cleansing milk.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 100ml
Texture: Cream
Scent: Sweet milk
Colour: White
Price: RM10 (I got this at a warehouse sale) I think RP is RM27

I don't quite like this as I feel it leaves behind an oily layer on my skin after rinsing it off. A little too rich for my liking. I prefer the Elixir Concentrate.

In terms of cleansing power, it does an okay job in removing light foundation. However for eye makeup - it tends to blur my vision, hence my dislike for this.

Watson’s Exfoliating Body Wash Kiwi Extract

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Watson Says:

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Nett Wt: 400ml
Texture: Runny jelly with fine beads
Scent: Fresh fruity
Colour: Green

When this went on sale, I paid RM8.90 for 2.
Nice for everyday polish, but I find the beads not coarse enough for a proper scrub. Not bad for light exfoliation. But not quite for the pits, knees and elbows.

On wet skin, it feels too slippery, on dry skin it does not feel good either.
Just damp skin would be ideal. Similar to the Orange Extract one.

Smell is refreshing, and it washes off easily. The Husband uses this regularly, he seems to love this. I prefer scrubs from The Body Shop.

Texture: Thick lotion
Scent: Plastic!
Colour: Light beige
Price: I think RM89.90 (but I bought this at a much lower price)

Sigh, another product that I'm happy to toss! Total waste of money :(
What really puts me off was the smell! Strong plastic smell, I really dislike it!

What was worse.. it did nothing to shrink pore size. Easy to spread and apply, but difficult to live with the smell, though it did not last long. But still...
And look at the long list of ingredients. @_@

Even a slight help in the oil control department won't make me repurchase this..

Enough said - toss!

Direction:

Wet face and apply cleanser with fingertips or wash cloth. Massage gently avoiding eyes. Rinse thoroughly. For best results, follow with your favourite Burt's Bees Moisturiser.

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Texture: Cream
Scent: A little citrusy
Made in: US

This is part of the birthday gifts from Burt's Bees. I took it along for my Taiwan trip. On most days except for the day I took my wedding pictures, I wasn't wearing any makeup. Just usual skincare and sunscreen. So I guess this is good enough to melt the dirt.

Unfortunately I didn't love this cleansing cream. It gave me a cooling, tingling sensation each use - in a way I didn't like. Felt a little burning sensation on my upper lip (nope, I did not shave nor have any blemishes there).

This didn't lather at all. But as cream, I didn't expect it to lather anyway. It felt quite drying on my oily combination skin... yet I didn't feel it was enough to really clean my skin; and would follow up with foam cleanser.

Its a shame.. I find that Burt's Bees facial products don't quite work for me..
The probably good thing is that, it is 98.8% natural?

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 30ml
Texture: Clear liquid
Scent: None
Made in: US

Ingredients:
Aqua (water, eau), glycerin, alcohol denat., royal jelly, glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) root extract, glucose, xanthan gum, sodium chloride, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase, caramel

I forgot how much was this serum.. probably about RM100-ish?
Don't have much to say about this, as I wasn't impressed.

Watery in texture, 2 drops are not enough for me. I usually use 4-6 to cover my neck as well. Absorption was pretty good. But I don't find this moisturizing, nor did I detect any radiance on my skin.

My skin condition remained the same throughout the use.. not worse, not better. I'm just glad I finished the bottle..

Shiseido Aqualabel Moist Essence GG

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Aqualabel Says:
Care for open pores. Cool refreshing texture.
Small pearl size for eye and mouth area, size of a pearl for the whole face.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Net: 30g
Price: RM70-ish
Texture: Gel
Scent: None
Made in: Japan

I use this as a day time serum. Didn't detect any scent. Seems that it contains alcohol, but it doesn't sting nor cause any irritation to my skin.

Spreads easily, and absorbs pretty quick. Leaves a cooling feel.
Okay for light hydration, my skin does not feel tight at the end of the day.

However it does not reduce pore size. It does plump up the skin and give a nice healthy glow. Nothing significant for those over 30s, I think.

Ingredients:
Water, Alcohol, Peg/Ppg-14/7 Dimethyl Ether, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Glycyl Glycine, Silica, Xanthan Gum, Camphor, Menthol, Polyquaternium-51, Soluble Collagen, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ppg-13-Decyltetradeceth-24, Carbomer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Trisodium Edta, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol

Is Vichy Bidding Us Farewell?

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

After being "absent" from the Internet scene for almost two months (there was the wedding, then the honeymoon, and then the failed internet connection which resulted in me cancelling the service); this piece of news is a shocker (like a welcome back boo-yah Vichy is leaving!)

I mean like, realllly? Why?
Vichy is a brand that I don't dislike (except the price maybe, I have to admit, they are not too expensive though). I've tried a couple of their products so far, and I quite like them. There was always a wish list - I'll get them once I finish something (fat chance hah!) / when there is a sale going on (10-20% is no fun) etc.

Never really get to do a big haul. Now they are leaving?
Best part is, things are going at Buy 1 Free 1 now! It is true! News was that by March next year, they'll be kapoofed for good. But check their shelves now - I think they'd be gone by Christmas!

Most of the shelves are almost empty, and some left are single unit only. You don't get to buy at 50% off.
No luck at Queensbay. But the pharmacist was really nice, she called Gurney to see if they have what I want, and reserved a set for me :)

I really only wanted Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Emulsion. When I entered Watsons and Guardian, look at what I came out with >_<

I am trying to console myself - it is Xmas, it is ok to pamper myself, bonus is near, Heck, just buy and make myself happy. The Husband wasn't helping either.. he actually got me into buying the sunscreen and the Liftactiv (for him!!) :P

~ Purete Thermale 3 in 1 One Step Cleanser RM64.90
~ Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Emulsion RM109
~ Normaderm Night Anti Imperfection + Rejuvenating Care RM49
~ UV Pro Secure SPF 50 PA+++ (Anti Dullness and Evening Effect)
~ Liftactiv CxP RM149
~ Aqualia Thermal  Fortifying and Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care

All 12 for about RM500++. I guess it isn't too bad eh? :D

** Out of curiousity I did asked if she knows why are they pulling out from Malaysia. Seems that there was some conflict with the importer. That could possibly mean, some months later, some other importer might just bring Vichy back to Malaysia. So bye Vichy; for now. Come back soon!

Sabai-arom Jasmine & Aloe Vera Face Mask

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Sabai-arom Says:
(for all skin types)

Don`t you love how fresh you feel after a catnap? Don`t you want your complexion to mirror such heavenly freshness, too? We do – that`s why we concocted this purely natural recipe for you.

Apart from moisturizing Aloe Vera, long used by Thais to soothe tired and sore skin, we added the blissful scent of Jasmine. Thais find the smell of this tiny white flower both relxing and reviving.

In order to take advantage of its sensory benefits, our ancestors sprinkled Jasmine flowers in their bath and drinking water, even today many people hang fresh garlands on the rear – view mirrors in their cars for the same purpose.

Try our clay mask and witness your face come alive with a fresh, healthy glow – didn`t think it was possible to literally glow, did you? And in less time than your catnap, too.

How to stay pretty:
Apply an even layer onto your clean damp face, avoiding the eye contour. Leave this effective recipe on for 3 to 5 minutes for the nutrients to fully penetrate your skin. Wipe and rinse off.

Foxy Says:
Net: 100g
Price: Roughly about 419 Baht
Texture: Cream
Scent: Very sweet comforting, like cream with nice hint of jasmine.
Made in: Thailand

What I like most about this is its scent!! Gorgeous jasmine but not overpowering. (I am tempted to try all things Jasmine).

Plus points: doesn't cause breakouts for my skin. Hydrating properties are good. I usually use this in the shower. After cleansing my face, slather on a thick layer and then proceed with shower / scrub routine. About 3-5 mins after that, I rinse off with cold water.

Easy to remove, does not leave oily residue (dries to clay).

There is nothing I dislike about this, however this is not a miracle product ;)
It does a great job in hydrating plus smells awesome, that's about all.

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Glycerin, Bentonite, Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Octyl Stearate, Steareth-2, Steareth-21, Polysorbate 60, Butylene Glycol, PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Tanakura Clay, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Aloe Barbardensis (Aloe Vera) Extract, Centella Asiatica (Centella) Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E), Parfum (Fragrance), Ethylhexylglycerin / Methylisothiazolione

KAO ASIENCE Inner Rich Treatment

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

I'll be using alot of pics from the web, as just as the wedding madness has ended, it is now house-reno madness (!!)

Kao Says:
Contains high concentration of natural precious ingredients that deeply nourishes and protects the hair while strengthening it from the core.

Also enriched with Royal Jelly extract that keeps hair smooth and supple to the ends.

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Texture: Thick cream
Scent: Pleasant, hint of ginseng
Nett Wt: 180g
Color: White
Price: n/a
Made in: Japan

I'll be first to admit that I pay the least attention to hair care all the while. Even when I suffered hair loss due to work stress some years back, my diligence is still not comparable to skincare.

So on normal circumstances, I wouldn't be spending on hair treatments.
Just that I got this for free hehehe. It is part of the Goodie Bag items, complimentary from The Hotel where my wedding was held.

It was only on my wedding day that I realized just how much hairspray was needed to hold the little up do. Lets just put it this way - never in my entire life have I had to use so much hairspray. It held my mane in place for a good 16 hours! And that means, washing it off was a real real pain!

And I thought that was it... then I flew to Taipei to have my wedding shots taken. Another round of hairspray attack. This time it was worse, as I had 6 different styles. When I washed my hair that night, all I could think off was OMG OMG OMG... another round of hair loss?! I promise I'll be good!

(The Husband commented that my hair looked dry - I've always have oily scalp! So that was bad news)

Then I became so grateful this was gifted to me hehehehe. Because after just one use, I couldn't stop touching my hair :) I'm still not diligent enough to use it daily (I don't think I'll ever come to that level, also I didn't want super oily hair); but twice a week seems  pretty awesome for me.

After shampoo I use about the size of 2 peas and massage into my hair, avoiding the scalp. I leave it anywhere from 3-10 mins, depending on how much time I have in the shower. Even 3 mins did wonders for me.

Rinse with cold water, and air-dry. Hair looks much healthier, glossy even.
Best of all, I don't have to worry about dry hair (I wash my hair daily, sometimes with deep cleansing shampoo).

Definitely opportunity for re-purchase :)
