Sariayu Lulur Kencana Lulur Soap

Scent: Smells like alot of herbs and spices.
Nett Wt: 80g
Price: IDR 14000

I bought this during my recent Haul-a-Days in Jakarta.
There is a Martha Tilaar boutique in Grand Indonesia; although did not have all the things I want, has cause quite a dent in my purse :P

I was never a soap person (I got this habit from my mom) but somehow this intrigued me. Staying in Malaysia with the hot and humid weather, constant use of deo / anti-perspirant is almost a staple. I can't stand icky BO, so I am very particular about feeling fresh all the time.

It's true that meat lovers tend to smell a little more..
(I'm living with one! :P ) So, great timing I stumble onto this eh?

However... at first whiff, I decided to keep this for myself lol. I love the herbal scent. The soap is soft to touch once in contact with water. Foams quite good and rinses well. Doesn't leave my skin feeling tight, and even on minor cuts it doesn't sting.

The fresh clean smell lingers on after shower too. Am glad to say up to 3 weeks of use now I'm a happy person. It does prevent the icky sweat smell (but I'm not saying to go deo free, could skip every other day though).

At IDR 14,000 per bar, I'm happy to repurchase; but I guess one bar could last me a while.

I first got to know about BioValley from reading blogs. I thought, natural yo - good choice! It was readily available in Tesco, and selected Guardians too. Really, at RM17.90 for 500ml? Such a deal.

I'm really happy with this shampoo, it clears those nasty white flakes without frying up my locks. Unfortunately, I get those unwelcomed dandies whenever I'm in immense stress. And my job is mostly stressful, le sigh again!

Although without SLS, it foams just as well. I like the crisp tea tree scent, smells clean :) This bottle lasts me months, as I don't use it daily.

... because I couldn't find this in the market anymore *sobs*
Not in Guardian.
Not in Tesco.
Not in any of the toiletries aisles of any malls.

I'm going to miss this after the last 15% bids farewell. *pouts*

Palmer's Hydrating Gel Lotion

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

I spotted this in the Guardian's Xmas catalogue and have been wanting it. Finally a new Palmer's product! And when I was on a 2 weeks break, I took the opportunity to start shopping :)

Texture: Cream - Gel, like custard.
Colour: Very light beige
Scent: Delicious cocoa!
Nett Wt: 250ml
Price: RM19.90

I am finally back from hols, and am missing another one already! The things I don't miss - extremely dry, flakey skin; skin breakouts and dull skin. Too much rushing and those drying flights, le sigh..

Notice my arms and legs are looking rather flakey lately (it only happened when I was back in high school, and I was saved by Jergens!). But tonight, my legs started to itch :( Instantly prompted me to dig this out.

At first whiff, and many whiffs after - it smells of delish cocoa. Sweet warm cocoa, very comforting. Me likes!

Upon application, I had sort of an instant regret buying this.. it felt stickeh *yee* I was grumbling why why why when I had high expectation of this. It was sticky and skin felt a little taut.

But, wait on for a couple of minutes, and I don't even notice I had on lotion. With.the.freaking.itch.gone!! Really, like within 5-7 minutes, I am not scratching anymore (yes I am that excited I blog this instantly).

It didn't fade away the flakey look but hello! This is not magic ya. So long my skin don't feel dry and itch, I'm happy to give it time to recover. After all, I tortured my body with hours of mall browsing, weight lifting (that would be carrying the shopping bags), and indecent lack of sleep..

Oh, and a bonus?
~ It is paraben free :) So have some minutes of patience and you'll see the goodness in this gem..

Daiso Wild Rose Bath

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Whenever I plan for a holiday I always hope for a hotel bathroom with a tub. I love a hot relaxing soak after a day of endless walking.

I usually come back with aching feet and sore back from extreme shopping lol. A hot soak would just melt the tension away..

I bought a couple of different variant from Daiso sometime ago.. and now that I'm in KL for a short trip; it is about time to try them out.

Tonight - Wild Rose. Pour the sachet into running water. I find one sachet didn't do much in a tub of water so I used 2. Ooh.. bright pink water. Smells floral... not exactly rose but nice though.

I soaked for about 20mins with a face mask on and after that find some slippery feel on my skin. And the dry skin on my heels started to peel off; revealing soft skin. Leaves a mild lingering sweet scent after. Love it!

A pack of 3 sachets costs RM5 and I am looking forward to try another tomorrow :)

I'm particularly interested in the Evening Primrose Eye Cream. 10ml is almost full size and totally worth it.

The other 4 x 20ml are:
- Pomegranate White Tea Facial Cleanser
- Pomegranate Scrub
- Pomegranate Mask
- Pomegranate Cream-Gel

Yoga - For Beauty

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in

Had been sick for quite a long time, about 2-3 months of feeling weak now. Probably caused by lack of rest, also my low BP had always made me lethargic..

I skipped a lot of workout as all I wanted was to lie down and sleep. Went to doctors and they have no idea what was causing this tiredness :S

Needless to say, I have also been abandoning my skincare routine. The most diligent of me was to wash my face at the end of each day. On most days, I skip serums and cream... and; sunscreen too (!!!!) I know, *screams*

Its amazing that after months of abandonment, my skin did not turn 30 years  older. Signs of tiredness yes, but everything else remains pretty much the same. Most probably due to healthy food intake..

Anyway, during my down times, I have been reading up alot on articles related to health. I find below quite interesting, and do-able. For me; at a slow pace.

Sharing this out and also for my own reference :)

FOR A SMOOTH; SOFT SKIN
Through the following Asana the facial skin becomes soft, wrinkle free, and starts glowing with radiance. The black circles under the eyes vanish and the cheeks become pink. The face is filled with a magnetic attraction.

Asana
Stand straight and move your feet apart, about one foot. First cover your face with your palms and breathe fast and deep, ten times.

Next rub the face, the eyes, the forehead with your fingers and breathe fast ten times. By this exercise the face will start glowing with an attraction.

After this rub the skin of the whole face, starting from the chin to the fore-head. Keep breathing deeply. By this exercise the wrinkles on the face shall vanish and it shall acquire a healthy look.

FOR A LONG SHAPELY NECK
By performing the following Aasan a corpulent neck can be given a beautiful shape and all the wrinkles on it shall disappear.

Asana
Place your feet firmly on the ground. Keep your body erect and without moving your shoulders try to turn your neck to the left as much as you can. Then move the neck to the right. Repeat this exercise ten times.

Next turn the neck to the right with a jerk ten times; then to the left, also ten times. After this turn your face up and your head backwards and then bend it forwards, trying to touch the chest with your chin.

Repeat this exercise three times.

Through these exercises your neck shall become rid of extra fat and will become shapely.

FOR PROMINENT; WELL SHAPED BREASTS
Well formed breasts add to the beauty of a woman. Through this exercise the breasts can be moulded into an attractive shape.

Asana
Stand straight and move your feet about one foot apart. Place your hands on your waist and inhale as deeply as you can and then exhale forcefully. Repeat this breathing exercise at least sixty times.

By performing this exercise regularly, within a week the breasts start becoming prominent and gain a well moulded shape.

FOR A FLAT, FAT FREE STOMACH
Through this exercise the extra fat of the stomach gets dissolved. Women who have gained weight due to over-eating and pregnancy can try these exercises.

Asana
Stand straight with the feet placed about one foot apart. Then bend forward and touch your toes with your fingertips, without bending your knees. You may not succeed in performing this exercise in the first attempt but try to bend as much as you can and in a few days you shall be able to touch your toes. One should remember not to bend the knees.

When you succeed in performing this exercise, next try to touch your left toe with your right hand & your right toe with the left hand without bending the knees.

After you are able to perform the second exercise as well, try to bend forward so as to touch the floor with the palms of your hands.
Through this exercise all fat around the stomach region disappears.

FOR A SLIM AND CURVED WAIST
Until the waist of a woman is slim; free from excess fat, all her beauty seems to be in vain. Through this Asana the waist can be given an attractive shape.

Asana
Place the feet about one foot apart and spread the hands sideways in the level of the shoulders, parallel to the ground. Then turn your upper torso to the left from your waist upwards, so that you can easily look behind.

The feet should remain firmly on the ground. Then come back to the starting position and turn to your right. Repeat ten times.

In the next step turn to your left with a jerk and then to your right. Repeat twenty times.

Then place the hands on the waist and bend forwards so that your face touches your thighs. Repeat twenty times.

Thus by performing these exercises, your waist shall become free of all excess fat and will become beautiful; shapely.

FOR WELL PROPORTIONED THIGHS
The thighs should neither be too fat and nor should they be too slim. By this exercise the thighs, gain a well proportioned shape.

Asana
Stand straight and spread your hands forward parallel to the ground. Then bend your knees and go into a posture as if you are sitting on a chair.

Your thighs should be parallel to the ground and the back should be erect. Try to remain in this position for 3 minutes. This posture is similar to "Horse Trance" which is also practised by the martial arts experts.

After performing this exercise for a few days, carry it out eight to ten times daily. Through this exercise your thighs shall get rid of excess fat and will gain a well proportioned shape.

FOR A PEACEFUL, TENSION FREE MIND
This is a very important but simple exercise which the texts on Yoga have called the Shavasan.

Asana
Lie down on the floor without moving any limb. Leave your body loose and close your eyes. Then try to free the mind of all thoughts, worries and tensions.

This Aasan should be performed for fifteen minutes daily. One shall attain peace of mind and tranquility through it.

By performing all the Aasans one not only gains a beautiful attractive face but also a well balanced physique.

Nature Republic Waiting of 6 Years Red Ginseng Cleansing Cream

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Okay, this is a long and weird name for a product. Don't remember if I got this from my Korea trip or the local outlet during sales..

Texture: Cream
Colour: Very light pink
Scent: Mild powdery
Nett Wt: 150ml
Price: definitely below RM20

I use up cleansing cream way faster than cleansing oil; this tube lasted me about 2 months. I love the creamy texture but don't leave an oily residue. Not overly rich.

Whether or not I wear BB Cream during the day, I would still use this as first step in cleansing. It emulsifies just the way I like it upon massage with water. Easily rinses off.

Melts away makeup - yes, beautifully.
Moisturises - yes too. Didn't feel dry or tight.
Gives nutrition to skin - hmmm I don't know. Is cleansing cream supposed to nourish??

I wouldn't mind buying again; but I just notice that mineral oil is listed first.. hmm maybe not then.

Baviphat Natural Pure Aloe Drop Facial Foam

Baviphat Says:
Hmm again all description is in Korean..

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt:200ml
Scent: Really like aloe!
Price: Less than RM20 (I always lookout for items at similar price range)
Texture: White, yoghurt like cream

..and similar to the Avocado Cleansing Cream, I bought this
because of its fresh scent! I love green juice by the way, and anything similar gives me the thought of being healthy (weird I know).

I used this together with the cleansing cream, and these quickly became my favourite combo. I did mention that the cleansing cream does not leave behind a film on my skin. However I have a habit of double cleansing in the evening.

This is very easy to work up a lather, best used with a washing net (I read somewhere it isn't a good idea to directly slather the cleanser onto skin)! When it is really fluffy in foam, its such a joy to use. When thoroughly rinsed off, it left my skin feeling really clean, but not tight.

Lasted me a couple of months and I thought I've thoroughly squeezed it out. But when I cut the tube up, I still have about a week or so usage.
What is not to love? :)

All description is in Korean, hmm but I remember the sales assistant told in its very moisturising.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt:200ml
Scent: Like fresh green juice
Price: Less than RM20
Texture: White, cream

I bought this because I was in a Baviphat store and couldn't make up my mind on what to get. Also I fell in love with the fresh scent. It reminds me of avocado juice I had in one of the Vietnamese restaurant in KL.

Great decision actually. Because I looked forward to using this each evening.
Yep, am very attracted to the avocado smell. But also because it cleanses well. BB cream, foundations melt when I massage this on, lightly. The cream texture is quite light and it emulsifies ok. No thin film and my face felt ok after rinsing, not tight. I guess it really does moisturize and nourish.

The Body Shop Almond Hand and Nail Cream

The Body Shop Says:
This effective daily hand cream cares for nails as well as hands and contains two manicurist’s essentials: sweet almond oil and panthenol. Moisturizing Conditions nails Sweet almond scent

How to Use:
Squeeze onto palms and massage into hands and nails as often as required. This is step three of the Almond hand care regime: a complete cleanse, target, moisturise and treat range.

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Nett Wt:30ml
Scent: Mildly sweet
Price: This was a gift
Texture: White, cream

This was a surprise gift from a friend at work. He just knew what to get for a lady! Hehe. This 30ml tube last about 4 months - because I alternate with my Crabtree hand cream too.

I like that it is non sticky. I wash my hand like 8 times a day at work, and must massage cream on after each wash. Does not make me icky about using the keyboard after the cream. Hands are comfy with this cream too, it does keep dryness at bay. Feels supple.

Now the thing with the scent.. it is not bad, but its not my favourite scent. Smells sweet, if anymore would appear plasticky.. like super sweet vanilla.

The packaging in foil makes it easier for me to use all of the product. Simply roll it with a pen, no wastage! :)

Goodies from Jakarta

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

The Husband recently was in Jakarta for a couple of days, for work. Guess what? I gave him an additional task - shopping list! :P

I spent quite some time to find out whats hot in Indonesia.. and funny, when I did that last year, I couldn't seem to find any (maybe wrong keyword). This time round, I found many Indonesian blogs!

I gave The Husband quite a long list, but unfortunately the outlet he went to did not have all the stuffs I want..(ahh I missed some of the masks by Martha Tilaar)

Anyway, he came back with the above goodies, despite his super tight schedules *happy!*

See the Hello Kitty tubes?
They are the Vivelle range of body lotions. The 2 tubs are Vivelle body scrubs (I'm curious to try the Lemongrass ones)

The remaining items are from Martha Tilaar:-
- Shimmering powder (this is the trigger to start a shopping list)
- Firming creams for the tums and girls
- Oils for massages

Now, for a good date to start using them :D

Boots No7 Whitening Concentrated Essence

Boots Says:
Enhance whitening for bright and beautiful skin...

For a clearer, smoother, more radiant complexion. This concentrated, easily absorbed essence has been specially formulated to revitalise skin and moisturize for 24 hours.

A little facial everyday..
For best results, use day and night as part of your daily routine.

Suitable for all skin types.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt:30ml
Scent: Fresh floral
Price: Boots sales, about 250 baht
Texture: Gel

I like the packaging, solid in a glass bottle with a pump. Not heavy me thinks.
The smell is really refreshing. I only use this at night so far, and am on my way finishing it.

Its gel texture is easy to spread on, but I find some sticky feel if I apply this in a rush. And it would sting on "freshly" picked skin - so no picking on blackheads / pimples prior to using this.

Comes the real problem..
I don't know if it works for me hahaha. I think my skin still looks the same. Not any fairer for long, not any darker either.

Having said that, lately I have been skipping sunscreen a few times a week :P
After finishing the recent Sunkiller, I've been more cautious in trying out other sunscreens because I do not want to be surprised in the morning with white cast, just 5 mins before I rush out the house. Worse, I even walked out for lunch without an umbrella! (need to change need to change)

So I guess in a way, not getting any darker is great?

Anyway, I have decided to use this serum prior to applying a mask (any type).
I find it works better this way. I do find fairer, plumped skin after removing the mask. So I'll just leave this for the masking ritual then.

Don't think I'll repurchase this, not bad, but not excellent either..

Kiss Me Sunkiller Kireihada SPF50+ PA+++

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Hmm I threw away the packaging and now left with no product description..
This is one of the many sunscreen I've tried and really like.

... because it allows me to be lazy. Totally skipping BB Creams or foundations.
Its tinted runny texture is a dream to smooth on; leaving no white cast or oily residue. My skin was behaving all the time.

Not leaving a white cast is a big deal for me as I am always rushing in the morning, hence not liking the idea of spending extra minutes to blend.

Also the 30ml size is good for travel. Won't spill, but more because of the SPF50+. And of course the multi tasking giving me a great finish. Minimal steps, great pictures!

Also, the price is very affordable. At below RM30, this occassionally goes on sale at Watsons.

Foxy Frangipani Says:
This is easily the most luxurious (read: expensive) scrub I own so far... and let me go straight to the point - I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Ok, first the scent is just heavenly. One whiff and I am relaxed. So calming and soothing..

The scrub texture is great for an all over scrub; however I don't fancy scrub with oil for the pits.. There are lots of lavender buds, when crushed, release more calming fragrance. Nice!

This rinses well and I like using this on damp skin. After shower with this srub, my skin feels velvety and always puts me in a great mood. Fantastic for those moody tough days...

As usual, I got this when the collection was launched, I don't remember the price anymore. However much I love this, I doubt I'll repurchase as I'm not keen in paying a bomb for wash-offs. *I wonder if they still sell this.. I have not been to a Crabtree store since my last handcreams purchase*

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt:200g
Scent: Refreshing, a hint of citrus
Price: About RM55 (intro price)

Crabtree products are like a luxury for me. I will never be able to justify paying the full price for their products. But come Christmas and whenever they have new products launching (damn, they have alot of launchings per year), is my haul time. Prices then seems ok, not for the frugals but occassionaly splurge is fine.

I love this body polisher!
For the texture, just the way I like it. Coarse enough to feel a good buff, my skin looks healthy after each use. Very smooth to touch, perfect to follow up with lotion. I tend to like coarser texture so I could use it on my feet too..

And the scent... oh just heavenly. Very citrusy and refreshing. Makes me feel very pampered.

It doesn't leave oily residue and is very easy to rinse off. The 200g tube lasted me about a couple of months. I use this everyday, on some days, more to cover the entire body.

One gripe though about the cap. It needs to be kept at the drier areas of the bathroom. If it gets wet, some yellowish build up would appear inside - gross. Other than that - perfect!

I thought I have previously review this serum, but I couldn't find it hmmm. Weird that the bottle is still in my to-do list lol. Playing tricks on me..

Anyway, it was my mom that started using this serum. She used a couple of bottle and my, her skin does look good! Supple and blemish free, she doesn't look like in her 50s (envy envy). It was one weekend I went back hastily without properly packing my own skincare, and she offered me this. Went to sleep and when she woke me up the next morning...

She looked excited - she commented that my skin looks really good. And yeah I jumped off the bed towards the mirror (vain people are like that). Oooohh, my skin did look plumped up and glowy. Now I know whenever we get a good night rest our skin would look good. But what I saw was way better!

So I went on and bought myself a bottle of this goodies. Used up the whole bottle, and it never irritates my skin. This is like the drugstore version on Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

The fact that it comes with a dropper makes usage very convenient. Have not experience any spillage, and one pump is sufficient for whole face and neck. The rubber stays solid too, so it didn't get greasy.

The serum absorbed well, and does not leave sticky residue. No unpleasant smell too, but scent could be very subjective.

Cosway occassionally has sale on this where you could get the 2nd bottle at 50% off.

The only reason I stopped buying (I've used up 3 bottles) is because Cosway kinda increased their membership fees, and other that a few selected items; my mom and I rarely purchase anything else. Hence wasn't worth to continue the membership.
