Shu Uemura Skin Purifier High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil - Fresh

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Hello! So glad its weekend isn't it?
I've started to pack my stuffs into boxes as I will be moving in a couple more days. Stressful!!

I've decided not to take a picture for this one, and do a quick review (so that I could get rid of the bottle ha!)

Anyway, here is what Shu Uemura says:

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 450ml
Scent:Powdery
Texture: Oil
Price: RM270 (I think)

I got this during one of my shopping trips in KL. Randomly had an urge to try the infamous Shu Cleansing Oil lol. Of course, the price kills and I am a better person now (hahaha yeah right).

I'm on the fence on this one.
First half of the bottle:- I love it. It melts my makeup, emulsifies brilliantly and rinses off easily. Didn't leave much oily film on my skin (but I double cleanse anyway out of habit). One pump to cover my face and neck.

Then came second half:- I find it gradually more difficult to emulsify!
Like I always ended up with a thick layer of goo on my face, ewww.
I am dying to finish up the bottle; I think still about 1-2 weeks to go. I could have just bin it but, I spent RM270 for this ugh.

End up being disappointed with this and definitely will not repurchase.
Oh oh.. am I the only weird one who hates this? :P

Rank Those Oils!

Here is a short entry about what I think of the two cleansing oils:

Biore Cleansing Oil
Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Oil

I tried Neutrogena in sample size, and Biore in full, so my assumption in this comparison is:

- both comes in pump

Both Neutrogena and Biore:
- does not sting
- does not cause me breakouts
- does not remove waterproof mascara well.
- does not leave oily film after rinsing

~*~*~*~**~~*~**~**~*~**~*~

- Biore's scent is easier to accept. By the time I started to like Neutrogena's I was already finising 75% of the content. I remember the first time I used Neutrogena I went - "Holy Cow, the smell is so... strong and "poking" my nose!" :)

- Biore's texture is not as thick. I prefer to have a light massage while cleansing off makeup / sunscreen. So Biore is more feasible. With Neutrogena, I tend to stretch the skin more, unless I add water and emulsify it. But by then it probably wouldn't cleanse as well...

- I tend to rinse longer when I use Neutrogena. Maybe related to its thick texture?

- Biore is considerably cheaper, I think?
I thought I saw Neutrogena's new Cleansing Oil at Guardian.. 2 for RM47 (sale price). But I didn't really compare ml against $$. Cause I have a bottle of Shu Uemura waiting in line hehe. But Biore is probably cheaper.

Hope this helps :)
So if I have to choose a winner, I'd go for Biore :)

Biore Cleansing Oil

I'm in love with cleansing oils.. I feel that they do better at removing makeup compared to cleansing milk..

Biore Says:

• Specially-formulated to provide optimum cleansing performance on both dry and wet skin.

• Effectively dissolves and removes long lasting makeup, even waterproof mascara.

• Protective nozzle cap for easy travelling and no cotton pad required.

• Does not clog pores, and gentle and mild on skin.

• Refreshing fragrance.

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Scent: Fruity.. like Fanta Grape?
Texture: A wee bit runnier than Neutrogena Cleansing Oil
Nett Wt: 150ml
Colour: Clear
Price: Got it on sale around RM18

Like it:
- It doesn't sting my eyes
- Removes most makeup, except very stubborn waterproof mascara.
- Doesn't leave an oily film after rinsing, but as a habit, I always follow with a foam wash.
- No breakouts :)
- Comes with a pump so I control the amount without spills.
- This bottle lasted me a couple of months, evening only use.

Sampled: Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleansing Oil

One more item checked off from my To-Blog List :)

Ingredients
Mineral Oil, Isopropyl, Isostearate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Polysorbate 80, PEG-8 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Sorbitan Trioleate, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Water, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, PPG-10 Cetyl Ether, Benzyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Propylparaben, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Oleifera leaf extract, lodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Rosmarinus Officinlis (Rosemary) leaf extract

Foxy Frangipani Says:

Nett Wt: 15ml - sample size
Scent: Strong, may be overpowering for some.
Texture: Clear oil, quite thick.
Price: I think about NT$239

I got this as a freebie when I purchase a Taiwanese beauty mag for RM3 so I'm unable to tell you much about this.

The first time I used this I got shocked by the very strong scent. Very deep scent, so some may not like this. After a few more uses, I kinda like this. Kinda therapeutic smell haha.

Its texture is thicker than Biore's. Able to remove my BB Cream completely as well as some light eye makeup. Not so much on waterproof mascara though.

Emulsify into milky texture once in contact with water, and when rinsed thoroughly, it does not leave an oily filmsy feel. No need for a second wash, but I have a habit of double cleansing so I follow up with my regular foam cleanser and voila, really clean skin. Doesn't feel tight, and didn't break me out. :)

I don't think this is available in Malaysia, saw this in one of the mags - retailing for NT239 for full sized 250ml?

Will buy the full sized product if I can find one :)
