I got these when the news of Vichy pulling out of Malaysia came to my knowledge. They were on buy 1 free 1 clearance.

This is a fine cleanser. On my bare faced days I use this both day and night. It doesn't rinse well though.. I think it is meant to be wiped off with tissue. But I don't like using tissue, or no rinsing (icky); so my trusted dampened muslin cloth it is.. After cleansing my skin really does not feel tight or dry.

I'm not comfortable with just using this alone when I have my BB cream or foundation on. I find it still leaves some residue on.. However this is my go to cleanser in the morning when I do not want to strip off too much oil from my skin.

I've since finished one tube, and am wondering if I would repurchase this again (overseas that is..). I'm not exactly loyal to facial cleansers.. but I really do like this one quite a bit.

Price: RM49 for 2pcs (Buy 1 Free 1, yes I always buy things when they are on sale)
Scent: Metal – clinical-ish
Nett Wt: 50ml
Texture: Cream
Color: White

I had very high hope when I bought these (yep at times, I get sucked into buying with the “perfect” product write up). I was very taken aback by the smell of this cream. Reminds me of clinics eeeks, not good memories. But non offensive, quickly got used to it.

The cream itself is not too hydrating. More towards oil controlling. Hence not for daily use (for me, even for my oily combination skin). My skin does feel a little smoother upon applying this. Not too sure about evening out my complexion.. lately I'm going thru some stressful time and my skin suffers as well.. (I tend to have red patches when overwhelmed)

Unfortunately it didn’t minimize my pores hehehe. I know, I know, we can’t make pores disappear; but one can always hope and keep hoping :P
I've used up a tube, and still have another to go. Hmm maybe the second tube would give me better results? Lol.. if only I have the patience to finish it..

Is Vichy Bidding Us Farewell?

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

After being "absent" from the Internet scene for almost two months (there was the wedding, then the honeymoon, and then the failed internet connection which resulted in me cancelling the service); this piece of news is a shocker (like a welcome back boo-yah Vichy is leaving!)

I mean like, realllly? Why?
Vichy is a brand that I don't dislike (except the price maybe, I have to admit, they are not too expensive though). I've tried a couple of their products so far, and I quite like them. There was always a wish list - I'll get them once I finish something (fat chance hah!) / when there is a sale going on (10-20% is no fun) etc.

Never really get to do a big haul. Now they are leaving?
Best part is, things are going at Buy 1 Free 1 now! It is true! News was that by March next year, they'll be kapoofed for good. But check their shelves now - I think they'd be gone by Christmas!

Most of the shelves are almost empty, and some left are single unit only. You don't get to buy at 50% off.
No luck at Queensbay. But the pharmacist was really nice, she called Gurney to see if they have what I want, and reserved a set for me :)

I really only wanted Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Emulsion. When I entered Watsons and Guardian, look at what I came out with >_<

I am trying to console myself - it is Xmas, it is ok to pamper myself, bonus is near, Heck, just buy and make myself happy. The Husband wasn't helping either.. he actually got me into buying the sunscreen and the Liftactiv (for him!!) :P

~ Purete Thermale 3 in 1 One Step Cleanser RM64.90
~ Bi-White Reveal Double Corrective Whitening Emulsion RM109
~ Normaderm Night Anti Imperfection + Rejuvenating Care RM49
~ UV Pro Secure SPF 50 PA+++ (Anti Dullness and Evening Effect)
~ Liftactiv CxP RM149
~ Aqualia Thermal  Fortifying and Soothing 24Hr Hydrating Care

All 12 for about RM500++. I guess it isn't too bad eh? :D

** Out of curiousity I did asked if she knows why are they pulling out from Malaysia. Seems that there was some conflict with the importer. That could possibly mean, some months later, some other importer might just bring Vichy back to Malaysia. So bye Vichy; for now. Come back soon!

Foxy Says:

Scent: A little clinical but I'm fine with it.
Nett Wt: 50ml
Price: Usually RM100, but i bought it in a promo pack with cleanser for about 70-ish?
Texture: White cream, non-runny

So I tested this in different ways (in each one, I went out for lunch with 5 mins walk under the sun; and sunscreen is staple):

Without Serum, without BB Cream
- No blotting required. Fantastically matte. However, a little too drying after 11 hours in office with air conditioning. Hint of fine lines slightly visible.

Without Serum, with BB Cream
- Still no blotting required. Skin looks normal throughout the day, but started to look a little tired after about 11 hours.

With Moisturizing Serum and BB Cream / Foundation
- I love this combo the most! No blotting required, non oily, skin stays nicely plumped up and looked fresh even after 11 hours in the office. Feels smooth to touch (yes due to the +cone).

Best of all, BB Cream / Foundation doesn't smudge off! :D

With Moisturizing Serum, without BB Cream / Foundation
- Better than the second condition. Doesn't look dry and tired. Non oily, no blotting. After 11 hours, skin is slightly better.

Oh, this is one of my top HGs!
Doesn't break me out, doesn't make me shine, got it at a promo price.
One pump is enough for the whole face + neck.
Keeps me nicely hydrated  (though only day time). I would definitely re-purchase this, on sale yeh!

*Don't think this is suitable for dry skin though..

Post Xmas Joys

Working on the last week of the year for most ppl is generally annoying.
For me, it has its perks!

1- Came back and found a lil gift on my desk from The Boss. Chocolates.. yummm.

2- Nothing much to do. Just very light follow ups etc.
3- Very peaceful. Not many are around this time.
4- Ample carparks. I park just right in front of my entrance.
5- This is the best - I work half day only, daily. Lol.

So by noon, I'm back home and taking my sweet time slow-cooking some healthy soup for dinner, updating blogs which are long overdue, sipping tea (its Gui Hua tea today), mini "make-overing" my room and watch the world goes by.

Over the past two weeks, I went to a couple of warehouse sales.
Not as huge as the ones in KL, but okay-ish.

Loreal Warehouse Sale
Guess who "officiate" the shopping basket first? Hahaha The Boyfriend!! I was surprised to find the Loreal Men Expert set in the basket. He who used to be a soap and water guy lol is now a vain pot :P Mind you he kinda like this (he got one back in July's warehouse sale) and now this is even cheaper (comes with facial wash too).

Some of the stuffs I got are:
- Maybelline Turbo Boost Mascara (Another!? Yeah.. hands itchy) RM15

- Maybelline Eyestudio Palette in Winter Iris RM15

- Loreal Cashmere Milk Makeup Remover (I'm currently using Elixir Concentrate and liking it, so giving Cashmere Milk a try now) Don't remember how much RM10/RM15

- Loreal Derma Genesis Toner RM10. I use toners like theres no tomorrow..
- Garnier Light Dark Spot Corrector RM10

- Loreal White Perfect Zooming Spot Corrector RM20 (?)  Hmm I am recently obsessed in getting rid of a tiny weeny dark spot on my cheekbone..
- Maybelline Angelfit Liquid Foundation RM20 (?)
- Loreal Derma Genesis Set RM60

The was a small section for Vichy. Only a few items though:
- Liftactiv Pro Night: Detoxifying Anti Wrinkle & Firming Care (6x15ml - RM60)

- Liftactiv Pro: Pro Fibre Anti Wrinkle & Firming Care (2x50ml - RM60)
I've never seen this at Guardian/Watsons before, and was told these are new products. Over the recent weekend I saw these two at Guardian, and yes, labelled "NEW". Priced at RM130 for 50ml.. ooh la la. Thank my itchy hands.

- Another was for slimming (don't know the name coz I didn't buy it)
Its time I start using anti aging creams, eh? *excuses to buy*

There were many other makeup items - tons of mascaras, lipsticks, eye shadows, liners but I skipped.

Too many already *guilty*

Also Loreal Elseve shampoos, conditioner and masks are really affordable. RM14 for the shampoos and RM10 for the mask! I didn't get any as I prefer Redken Body Full and bynature shampoos (got these from Bangkok); and I use hair mask like super slowwwww.

Metrojaya Warehouse Sale
Pretty good deals I'd say. Average about 50-80% for clothing, lingeries, handbags. Heads everywhere. Oh, random thought - where are all the well endowed women?! Walked past the lingerie section and all that were left are big sizes? *puzzled* Are there really that many small chested girls here? Heee forget abt it eh, just one of my random silly tots.

I skipped all the clothes and handbags coz I'll be heading to Bangkok soon :)
I did make a small damage with Elizabeth Arden though. Took home with me:

- EA Good Morning Skin Serum RM55
- EA Sheer White Restoring Night Cream RM62

I've started using them so I'll do a proper review soon eh.

* I forgot where I download those pictures sigh, lemme just do a search..
