AMPM Skin Ecological Indoor Defense Cream

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in , ,

Together with the Skin Ecological Complex, I bought these on BOGO too. But I don't remember how much. I've used up both (all 4) by now, and time to get rid of the bottles and tubes. Spring cleaning- yet again!

These IDC come in a toothpaste like tube, each 30g.
It is slightly yellow in color, and feels like thick yogurt. When applied after the SEC, it absorbed almost immediately and skin felt matte. It is softly scented, I don't find it annoying my nose at all.

I find this having a great oil control function - because when paired with SEC - my skin was constantly in great condition. No mid day oiliness, end of day fatigue, signs of exhaustion. Just nice and matte. :D

This is also the reason why I've been complaining of the lack of a suitable day cream, after this one finished. (but I might have found a near replacement hehe).

Definitely looking to repurchase this soon.

Kiehl's Acai Damage Correcting Moisturizer

Kiehl's Says:
An antioxidant-enriched, non-greasy, organic moisturizer
  • Skin is visibly renewed, smoother, and more even-toned
  • Ecocert Organic Certified with 100% Natural Origin Ingredients
  • Paraben- and Silicone-free
  • Dermatologist tested for gentleness and suitable for sensitive skin

Foxy Frangipani Says:
As I only had 1 of this, I used this on my second trip to KL with the serum. This texture is much thicker, and lighter in colour. But the scent is similar to the serum.

Upon application I feel an immediate suppleness on skin. Together with the citrusy scent it felt relaxing. However with continuous use I find it a little too rich for my skin; and I need to blot more. Couldn't really fault this moisturizer but I wasn't in love with it.

I don't think I will be purchasing this - I'm currently finishing one by Pangea and I think I found The One? ;)

Oriks Water Max Gel Cream

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

Nett Wt: 30ml
Made in: Korea
Texture: Gel

I bought this from Bangkok 7-11 some time back. This came with a cleanser,  toner and a BB cream.

Lately I've been dissatisfied with the day creams I tried. Either too sticky or too light or made my skin look tired. (Maybe stress causes these because I recently went through some sad events. Loved ones passed on and work got political hmm).

This turned out to be the better one. Not perfect but I do reach out for this alot. The gel texture does not leave my skin sticky -

I pat my palms on my cheeks a couple of times and I am good to go. Hydration wise it does its job decently. Nothing longer than 6 or 7 hours. I prefer something a little more moisturising of course. I did not detect any scent using this.

I quite like this but it didn't meet all my needs so probably not repurchasing this.

Korean beauty industry never fails to amaze me. The luminous clear skin, ethereal looking make-up.. and the pace they come out with skincare products.

So, snail mucus cream? Ooooh, exotica!
I had to try right? I got the set together with the eye cream. Unfortunately, while I like the eye cream; I don't quite like the moisturizer..

It smells nice, very mildly scented. Relaxing too. The texture isn't too rich, easily spread. Then it annoys me.. it feels heavy on my skin. And makes me look so shiny light at the end of the tunnel.. :( I don't like heading out with just this on my face - I look like I've not wash my face for days. We're not talking about dewy skin here.. we're talking.. shiny. Blot like crazy in the afternoon. (I don't like it even for night use..)

Must use sunscreen and powder - but I sometimes (most for now) don't have that much of preening time before work.

Heh, then I found a better way to use this - mix this with Essence Stay All Day Foundation. I find the foundation a little too dry for my liking, so its a good pairing..

I do agree this hydrates my skin well.. skin appears plump and supple. Can't vouch for anti wrinkle and whitening. I use a couple of brightening products so I won't know if this works.

The jar looks kinda classy and not too big. I scoop with a mini spatula so no issues with dirty fingers. One green pea size for face, neck and shoulders.. yep I'm extending love to shoulders..

But overall, I will not be repurchasing this..
I have about 1/8 tub to go..

Scent: Soy, waxy
Nett Wt: 125ml
Price
: RM100++
Texture:Lotion
Color: Yellow

Took me like dino years to review this hehe, because I didn't like this and chucked this into a box; and it is time for me to spring clean again (I'm in the midst of preparing to move house, so you'll hear endless spring cleanings).
It is a highly raved cult product; but I didn't like this one bit!
Made my skin shine like a roti canai pan and felt oily all day long.

And worse, I got tiny bumps after using this for a couple of days. Bad bad bad, there were very few moisturizer that could do this to me! It didn't get absorbed immediately.. there were some white layers that need more massaging before they disappeared.
It certainly didn't help that it smelt like soy, and a little waxy too :S
I wasn't in the time period where I scrutinize ingredients; but now that I do, I notice mineral oil and petrolatum eeeeks!

No go, not repurchasing. In fact I still have about half a bottle with me - trashed! (or turn it into foot lotion??)

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua Purificata) Purified, Mineral Oil (paraffinum liquidum), Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Oil, Propylene Glycol, Tea Stearate, Gylceryl Stearate, Lanolin Alcohol, Petrolatum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

Our formula is made with Antarcticine–a Glycoprotein extracted from microorganisms sourced from sea glaciers and notable for an ability to protect skin from cold temperatures–as well as Imperata Cylindrica, a plant indigenous to the Australian desert which possesses superb water retention properties in dry conditions.

Our unique combination of ingredients helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air. With continuous water replenishment throughout the day, skin is smooth, healthy-looking, and "moisture-even."

Can I just sum it up as - I really really like this one!?
Because it made my skin feels like it had a good drink of water. Nicely plumped up. I mostly used it as a day cream.

Rubbed between my palms to warm it up a little. And then spread onto my face and neck. Even with the harsh air cond and scorching hot sun, my skin did not feel tight. I did find it a bit oily if I did not top up with loose powder in the morning.

What I didn't really like:
- It comes in a jar! I'm not in favour of dipping my fingers in or washing my spatula before and after each scoop! Boo..

- Price tag? Hmmm well RM100 isn't thaaaat bad, but any cheaper won't hurt haha.

I had very good results with the hydrating toner from Hada Labo; hence I didn't hesitate to try this moisturizing cream.

The texture is very similar to Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. However this took a lil longer to absorb. Not good in the morning when I'm almost always rushing for work. By noon, I find my face rather oily, and a lil sticky - dislike!

I tried it as a night cream and I like it a wee bit more. Best if I sleep with the air cond on. But I rarely sleep with air cond... I have resorted to use this on my legs when I hit about 5% left in the jar. Even on my legs, I can still feel a layer of flimsiness!

Can't detect a scent; so great for sensitive noses :)

It also came in a jar, and I don't fancy dipping my fingers into it. Neither do I like to wash my spatula before and after each use. So in summary I will not be re-purchasing this..

..... (silence). I don't know what to say about this product. I don't hate it, I don't like it either; like drinking water. Here is a better description - I will not buy it.

Like the eye cream, it does nothing for me.
I do like its jelly like texture, so easy to spread; and its not pore clogging. Non oily. But just not hydrating enough. No firming properties. Hmm I just don't see the point..

Toss!

Foxy Says:

Scent: A little clinical but I'm fine with it.
Nett Wt: 50ml
Price: Usually RM100, but i bought it in a promo pack with cleanser for about 70-ish?
Texture: White cream, non-runny

So I tested this in different ways (in each one, I went out for lunch with 5 mins walk under the sun; and sunscreen is staple):

Without Serum, without BB Cream
- No blotting required. Fantastically matte. However, a little too drying after 11 hours in office with air conditioning. Hint of fine lines slightly visible.

Without Serum, with BB Cream
- Still no blotting required. Skin looks normal throughout the day, but started to look a little tired after about 11 hours.

With Moisturizing Serum and BB Cream / Foundation
- I love this combo the most! No blotting required, non oily, skin stays nicely plumped up and looked fresh even after 11 hours in the office. Feels smooth to touch (yes due to the +cone).

Best of all, BB Cream / Foundation doesn't smudge off! :D

With Moisturizing Serum, without BB Cream / Foundation
- Better than the second condition. Doesn't look dry and tired. Non oily, no blotting. After 11 hours, skin is slightly better.

Oh, this is one of my top HGs!
Doesn't break me out, doesn't make me shine, got it at a promo price.
One pump is enough for the whole face + neck.
Keeps me nicely hydrated  (though only day time). I would definitely re-purchase this, on sale yeh!

*Don't think this is suitable for dry skin though..

Estee Lauder Nutritious Vita-Mineral Moisture Milk

Posted by: Foxy Frangipani in ,

I was clearing my vanity space when I realized there is another Estee Lauder Moisturizer that have not been reviewed (I believe there is a couple more lol).

Similar to the Radiance Serum, I could no longer find any info from Estee Lauder's website.

Estee Lauder Says:
A lightweight, fast absorbing milky lotion.
Refreshes skin in morning for a radiant, healthy look.

Contains advanced skin-drenchers & essential minerals
Helps protect skin from daytime dehydration & external aggressors.

Fortifies skin natural ability to revive skin.
Skin appears soft & energized
Suitable for Asian skin types

Foxy Frangipani Says:
Nett Wt: 50ml
Made in: UK
Price: I forgot... sorry!
Skin types: All
Color: White
Texture: Milky, similar to Hada Labo Moisturizing Milk
Scent: Fruity

I quite like this because its texture is milky, hence easy to spread on.
Absorbs almost instantly, leaving my skin really hydrated.
Non sticky too.

When I used this, I was still sitting at my old cubicle space, which wasn't as cold and drying. Hence for me the hydration effect was sufficient and satisfactory. Only thing is.. it doesn't contain SPF.
